SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There was a whole lot of planting going on at the Springfield Boys and Girls club this weekend to celebrate an important occasion.

Volunteers from the Springfield Lowe’s home improvement store started planting the club’s 125th anniversary commemorative garden.

Former Boy’s Club members assisted in the beautification project. When the work’s finally done, the club’s iconic arch will be surrounded by potted plants donated by Alumnae.

Lowe’s employees donated their time as well as the soil and the supplies.
