Vincent F. Borello - Executive Director
Vinny was born, raised, and educated in Utica New York. In 2018 Vinny will celebrate his 40th year in the Boys & Girls Club Movement. As a 6 year old boy Vinny attended the Utica Boys Club and also enjoyed his summers at the Utica Boys Club Camp in the Adirondack Mountains. At the age of 11 Vinny was named Boy of the Year awarding him a $25 Savings Bond and a Job at the club. Vinny was the Youngest Club Director in the country at age 17 and found himself as the Program Director & Camp Director at the Springfield Boys Club in 1988. Vinny furthered his career as he led clubs in Long Island, Washington DC, Memphis, & Detroit, but in 2016 Vinny relocated his family back to Springfield a city that is close to his heart. Vinny has a wife Shelby, and 2 children, Delaney & Vincent. In Vinny’s free time he enjoys sports, boating, cooking and camping in the Adirondacks.

Charles Hollins - Assistant Executive Director
Charles Hollins is a native to Springfield and a graduate from Roger L. Putnam High School and Westfield State College. Charles grew up in the Springfield Boys & Girls club, at the young age of 6. At the age of 13, Charles was elected “Boy Mayor” and was presented with his first job in the club store. He continued working for the club until he graduated high school and moved to Long Beach California where he joined the United States Navy. After a brief stay in the Navy, Charles continued his education in Westfield State College where he proudly completed the Urban Education Program, while simultaneously coaching women’s college basketball. In 1987 Charles came home to the club and served as Athletic Director, Program Director, Alumni Director and currently Assistant Executive Director.

Jen Ducharme - Director of Development
Jen Ducharme is a Western MA native, having grown up in Ludlow, MA and attended the Ludlow Boys and Girls Club while in junior high school. Jen holds a Bachelor’s of Business Management degree and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy. Jen has worked in the non-profit sector for seven years. Jen truly believes that her purpose in life is to do meaningful work that improves her corner of the world, that we should do our best to leave everything better than how we found it, and we should be able to laugh and smile as often as possible. When Jen is not at the Club she can be found with a book in her hand, running, volunteering, spending time with friends and family and playing with the two best dogs in the world, Bubba and Josie.

Alicia Garcia - Director of Special Events and Marketing
Alicia Garcia is a native of Springfield and a graduate of the High School of Commerce and Western New England University. Alicia graduated with a Management degree and has worked in the nonprofit field for over five years. Alicia’s involvement in the BGC movement has reinforced her passion to giving back and providing a better future for Springfield youth. When Alicia is not at the Club, you can find her watching baseball games, hiking or at church assisting Youth Ministry.

Kerson Joseph - Athletic Director
Before moving to Springfield in 2005, Kerson was a member of the Somerville Boys and Girls Club. Coming back to be a part of Boys and Girls Club really came full circle for him in a positive way. He attended Springfield Central High School where he was a three sport athlete in Football, Basketball, and Track & Field. He went on to graduate from Springfield Technical Community College in 2014 with an Associate’s Degree in Business Management with a Sports & Entertainment Management concentration. He transferred to Bridgewater State University graduating in 2017 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. Along with planning sport leagues, clinics, and activities for youth and teens, Kerson also serves as the “Always United Keystone Club” club adviser.

Jennifer Higgins - Grant Writer
A graduate of the Gerontology Ph.D. Program at the University of Massachusetts, Dr. Higgins has spent more than 25 years in the field of gerontology. For her dissertation, she conducted a nationwide study of senior center gambling policies designed to regulate problem gambling. Results of the preliminary analyses conducted for this dissertation have recently been published in the Journal of Aging and Social Policy and the Journal of Aging Studies. Dr. Higgins has presented her work at gambling conferences in the United States and Canada.
Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Higgins has conducted policy analyses and participated in numerous research projects at the University of Massachusetts/Boston Gerontology Institute, the Boston University School of Social Work, Simmons College School of Social Work, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the then Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation, and the Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling. In 2002, she was invited to join an Expert Panel of problem gambling clinicians and academics at the University of Windsor Ontario for the purpose of designing the first senior problem gambling diagnostic tool.
Presently, Dr. Higgins serves as the part-time grant-writer for the Springfield Boys & Girls Club. She has many years of experience writing grants and soliciting funds to support non-profits.

Madelyn Morales - Office Manager
Maddy Morales relocated to Springfield from Long Island and has lived here since then, traveling back frequently to visit family in “Lawng Ayland.” Both her son and her daughter have at one time been members of the Springfield Boys & Girls Club. Maddy’s background is in Early Childhood Education and after many years of working in the field, she decided to take the plunge and join the SBGC team in an administrative capacity. Maddy’s passions include writing, art, the color blue, her dog Rocky and her children.

Arnold Lemboet - Facility Manager
Arnold is a native of Suriname (Indonesian) and moved to the United States in June 2007. In Suriname, Arnold graduated from the College of trade with a major in electrical engineering. Arnold joined the Boys and Girls Club movement in January 2008 as a Maintenance Technician. His work in different trade branches as an Engineer and Director of a Vocational institute for Drop outs, has molded him to be passionate for the trade.
