SPRINGFIELD – The day a child enters a Boys & Girls Club can change that child’s life. Join us in making a difference for kids in your community by celebrating at the Springfield Boys & Girls Club’s Day for Kids event. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and will include carnival-type activities such as music, games, a bounce house, face-painting, food and fun, all while promoting our 2015 after school programs. Children and parents are welcome to attend this free event.
Day for Kids is a Boys & Girls Clubs of America national initiative that invites the community to join local Boys & Girls Clubs in making a difference for kids. For more than a decade, local Clubs have participated in Day for Kids events to advocate for youth and celebrate the life-changing work taking place at Boys & Girls Clubs. Each day, 15 million kids are left unsupervised after school. During this time, without adult supervision or a safe place to go, kids can find themselves in dangerous situations or an environment that does not support positive development. For nearly 4 million kids around the country, Boys & Girls Clubs are positive places that provide academic success programs, homework help, technology education, and fitness and social recreation opportunities they may not receive anywhere else. The Springfield Boys & Girls Club serves 1500 youth annually.
