SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Boys & Girls Club’s Board of Directors has named David Ross of Conklin, NY as Interim Executive Director.
Ross has extensive experience working in nonprofits including strategic planning, resource development, event planning, budget development, crisis management, and program development and implementation. Ross has over 30 years of experience with Boys and Girls Clubs. He has worked previously as the Director of Organizational Development and Field and Technical Consultant for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. His experience also includes Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown, PA, Boys & Girls Club of Paterson, NJ, and Boys & Girls Club of Warwick, RI.
“We acknowledge and appreciate former Executive Director, Sarah Tsitso, for her dedication and passion for the Club’s mission. She was a great asset to the organization,” said Kris Houghton, Chairman of the Board. “We are excited that Dave has agreed to serve in this capacity as we continue implementing our transition plan to find a permanent Executive Director.”
The Springfield Boys & Girls Club recently elected two new members to its Board of Directors, including Shayne Cowan and Tony Pettaway.
Cowan is a site manager for Eastman Chemical Company located in Indian Orchard, Mass. Cowan earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University and currently serves on the Board of The Economic Development Council of Western Mass.
Pettaway, an alum of the Springfield Boys & Girls Club, has achieved professional success as a public health emergency preparedness professional in Springfield’s Department of Health & Human Services. He currently serves on the Board of the Travis Best Foundation, the Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover Foundation, and the Southend Community Center.
